Father Edward A. Andrews is a Chicago native whose home parish was St. John of God. He devoted his religious life to teaching, guidance counseling, parish work and formation programs. He served at Mendel Catholic High School and in New Lenox, Ill. He now is a counselor at St. Rita High School.

Father Roland F. Follmann is a Chicago native whose home parish was St. Philomena. He devoted his religious life to teaching and guidance counseling. He served at Mendel Catholic and St. Rita high schools. He now is assigned to Providence High School, New Lenox, Ill.

Father Jerome Heyman devoted his religious life to teaching, conducting retreats and parish work. He served at St. Rita High School, Mission Band (retreats), St. Rita Parish and St. Rita Monastery, where he was prior. He now serves as pastor, Blessed Sacrament Church, Allegan, Mich.

Bishop John C. McNabb dedicated his religious life to work as a teacher, school administrator and missionary duties as a bishop. He served at Mendel Catholic High School and was a prelate and bishop in Chulucanas, Peru. He now is at Tolentine Monastery, Olympia Fields.

Father Walter McNicholas devoted his religious life to teaching and counseling. He served at St. Rita High School and worked in Pekin, Ill. Michigan and Missouri. He now is a counselor at St. Rita High School and lives at St. Monica Monastery, Chicago.

Brother Anthony Schander devoted his religious life to food service and missionary work. He served at St. Rita High School, Tolentine College, Olympia Fields; and Augustinian Center House, Lima, Peru. He now is at Tolentine Center, Olympia Fields.

Father Joseph G. Stobba is a Chicago native whose home parishes were St. Raphael and St. Rita. He devoted his religious life to teaching, administration and pastoral work. He served at Mendel Catholic High School and was associate and pastor of St. Rita Parish, Chicago. He now is pastor St. Rita Parish, Racine, Wis.

Father John A. Tyma is a Chicago native whose home parish was Immaculate Conception BVM. He dedicated his religious life to work as a teacher, school administrator and missionary. He served at Mendel Catholic and St. Rita high schools, as mission procurator in Olympia Fields, and in Alaska and Peru. He now is pastor, Paraoquia San Isidro, Morropon, Peru.

Father Thomas E. Griffin is an Evergreen Park native whose home parish was Holy Rosary. He devoted his religious life to work as a teacher and hospital chaplain. He served at St. Rita High School and now is a chaplain at Holy Cross Hospital. He lives at St. Monica Monastery.

Father Joseph McCormick is a Chiago native whose home parishes were St. Columbanus and St. Celestine. He devoted his religious life to parish work and development. He served at Tolentine Center in Olympia Fields and in Wisconsin and Michigan. He now is pastor, St. Clare of Montefalco, Grosse Pointe Park, Mich.

Father Michael Slattery devoted his religious life to teaching, formation and parish work. He served at Mendel Catholic High School, Mendel Monastery, St. John Stone Family Center and St. Clare Parish. He now is pastor of St. Jude Parish, New Lenox, Ill.

Brother Robert L. May is a Chicago native whose home parish was St. Sabina. He dedicated his religious life to work as a special education teacher. He served at Brother Rice High School and St. Laurence High School, where he currently works.

Brother Dominic Bedor devoted his religious life to teaching. He served at St. Patrick High School and De La Salle Institute. He now is at Driscoll Catholic High School, Lombard, Ill.

Brother Michael Callahan dedicated his ministry to teaching. He served at St. Joseph High School and now is at St. Joseph’s School, Nazareth, Ethiopia.

Brother Edward Fallon is a Chicago native who dedicated his religious life to teaching and administration. He served at the provincialate in Oak Park and at St. Patrick High School, and as the personnel consultant for the archdiocesan school office. He now ministers to the elderly at Queen of the Universe Parish.

Brother Paul Grass devoted his religious life to teaching and administration. He served at St. Patrick High School, in Minnesota and in Rome as secretary general for the Christian Brothers. He is assigned to St. Mary’s Press, Winona, Minn.

Brother Jude Heggy devoted his religious life to teaching. He served at St. Patrick High School, De La Salle Institute and St. Joseph High School, as well as in Lombard, Ill. He is retired at Benilde Community, Chicago.

Brother Joseph O’Malley is an Evanston native who dedicated his religious life to work as a teacher and assistant professor. He served at St. Mel High School, St. Patrick High School and St. Joseph High School. He is retired at Westmont South Community, Westmont.

Brother James Roszak devoted his religious life to work as a teacher and principal. He served at De La Salle Institute and now is at Christian Brothers University, Memphis, Tenn.

Comboni Missionaries in the Heart of Jesus

50 years

Father Paul Longo dedicated his religious life to teaching theology, mission promotion, parish ministry and formation work. He now serves as the instructor of the NAP Comboni Lay Missionary candidates in La Grange Park. He also has worked in Ohio, Italy, Sudan and Uganda.

Society of the Divine Word

50 years

Father Joseph Connors served his religious life as provincial at Techny. He also worked as executive secretary of the U.S. Catholic Mission Council in Washington D.C.; for the Vatican, giving retreats and seminars for missionaries in developing countries; in Florida and as a right-to-life activist.

Father Lawrence Nemer is a Chicago native who devoted his religious life to teaching, administration and pastoral work. He served on the faculty of Divine Word Seminary, Techny, and at the Catholic Theological Union, as well as helping out on weekends at St. Rosalie and St. Philip the Apostle parishes. He also served in Australia and is president of the Missionary Institute in London.

Father Robert Riemer is a Chicago native whose home parish was St. Thomas Aquinas. He dedicated his religious life to teaching and administration. He served at the society’s Nanzan University in Nagoya, Japan, since 1961. He now is principal of the Janzan Kokusai Junior and Senior High School there and professor emeritus of Nanzan University.

Father John Rodney is a Chicago native who attended Corpus Christi and St. Elizabeth parishes. He devoted his religious life to teaching and pastoral work. He served at St. Anselm and Our Lady of the Gardens, taught at the Society of Divine Word seminaries and served as a hospital and nursing home chaplain in Washington D.C. He also worked in Missouri.

25 years

Father James Braband is a Chicago native who attended St. Edward Parish. He devoted his religious life to teaching, administration and formation and recruitment work. He served at the Chicago Province headquarters at Techny and on the board of trustees at Catholic Theological Union. He also worked in Ohio and Iowa.

Brother Dennis Newton now serves at Techny as vice-provincial of the Chicago Province. He devoted his religious life to formation work and business management. He also served in Indiana, Missouri and Iowa.

Father Mark Weber dedicated his religious life to administration, pastoral and missionary work. He served at Divine Word Theologate and the 8th Day Center for Justice. He was the justice and peace coordinator for the Chicago Province and worked in Ghana. He now is assistant pastor at St. Anselm Parish.

Dominican Province of St. Albert

Brother Kevin Carroll is a Chicago native who currently serves as vicar provincial in Chicago.

Father William P. Callahan is a Chicago native whose home parish was St. Mary of Perpetual Help. He devoted his religious life to pastoral ministry and administration. He served as director for vocations for the Conventual Franciscan Friars and now is rector and pastor at the Basilica of St. Josaphat, Milwaukee.

Father Edmond DesForges is a Chicago native whose home parish was Queen of Apostles. He dedicated his religious life to education and served as director of formation, Sacred Heart Friary. He now is religion teacher and department chair at Divine Child High School, Dearborn Heights, Mich.

Franciscan Friars Assumption BVM Province

60 years

Father Ernest (Francis) Latko is a Chicago native whose home parish was Immaculate Conception. He devoted his religious life to teaching and administration. He served at Christ the King Seminary, West Chicago, and in Joliet and Kankakee, Ill., and in Indiana. He now teaches at Kankakee Community College and Prairie State College, both in Kankakee.

Father Francis (Joseph) Affelt is a Lemont native whose home parish was SS. Cyril & Methodius. He devoted his religious life to work as provincial treasurer, director of formation, provincial councilor and vicar provincial. He served mostly in Wisconsin and now is chaplain to the Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, Mishawaka, Ind.

Father Bede (Joseph) Hepnar is a Calumet City native whose home parish was Five Holy Martyrs. He devoted his religious life to education, work as a chaplain and pastoral ministry. He served in Centralia, Ill., Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, South Dakota, Michigan and Indiana. He now is assigned to St. Mary of the Angels Friary, Green Bay, Wis.

Bishop Henry Howaniec is a Chicago native whose home parishes were St. Casimir and Sacred Heart. He devoted his religious life to many ministries. He was a hospital chaplain, circulation manager for the “Miesiesznik Franciszkanski” and “Franciscan Message;” a member of province’s semi-contemplative community; and director in the Rome Protocol Office of the order’s General Curia. He also served in Wisconsin. He now is bishop of the newly created Apostolic Administration in Almaty, Kazakhstan, Russia.

Father Vianney (Chester) Sipulski is a Chicago native whose home parish was St. Mary Magdalene. He dedicated his religious life to teaching and parish work. He served in Wisconsin and now is pastor of St. Augustine Parish in Hillman and St. Augustine and Jesus the Good Shepherd parishes in Atlanta, all in Michigan.

Father Anthony Cirignani is a Chicago native whose home parish was Santa Maria Addolorata. He dedicated his religious life to parochial ministry and served at Queen of Angels and St. Joseph (Back of the Yards). He worked in Wisconsin and now is assigned to Hispanic ministry as pastor of St. Anthony Parish, Milwaukee.

Father Christopher A. Kuhn devoted his religious life to teaching theology and history. He has served at Notre Dame High School for Boys since 1978.

Brother Richard Shea is a Chicago native who devoted his religious life to teaching and social work. He served at Holy Cross High School from 1963 to 2001. He now is at Columba Hall, Notre Dame, Ind.

Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate

25 years

Father Patrick Casey devoted his religious life to directing vocations, campus ministry and parish work. He served in Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Missouri and now is pastor of Precious Blood-St. Malachy Parish.

Father William “Emmett” Collins devoted his religious life to education, administration, vocation, formation and missionary work. He served at Eucharistic Heart Provincial Residence. He now is editor of “Redemptorists in Action” at St. John Neumann House, St. Louis, Mo.

Father Paul Farrell dedicated his ministry to provincial administration, parish, retreat and missionary work. He served at St. Alphonsus Rectory and Villa Redeemer Retreat Center. He now is semi-retired and assigned to Liguori Mission House, Liguori, Mo.

Father James Keena devoted his religious life to provincial administration, formation and parish work. He served at St. Michael’s Rectory and is superior at the Redemptorist Denver Provincial Residence, Denver, Colo.

Resurrectionists

25 years

Father Stephen Gira is a Chicago native whose home parish was St. Constance. He devoted his ministry to work as a pastor and rector. He served at St. Hedwig and in Nevada and Missouri. He now is pastor of Our Lady of Lorreto Parish, St. Louis, Mo.

Father Gregory Helminski is a Chicago native whose home parish was St. Hedwig. He dedicated his religious life to work as associate pastor, teacher, administrator, vocation director and novice master. He now serves as a speaker bureau preacher for Food for the Poor and works part time at De Paul University. He is a resident at St. Wenceslaus Parish.

Father Timothy Keppel devoted his ministry to pastoral work. He served in Missouri, Alabama and California, where he now is pastor of Our Lady of the Lake Parish in Crest Park and “moderator priest” at St. Anne in the Mountains, Running Springs.

Father C. Frank Phillips is a Chicago native whose home parish was St. Peter Canisius. He dedicated his religious life to pastoral work, teaching and serving as a vocation director. He served at St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr and Weber High School. He now serves as pastor of St. John Cantius.

Brother Gino Corradin is a Chicago native whose home parish was St. Anthony on South Prairie Avenue. He dedicated his religious life to pastoral ministry. He served at Sacred Heart Seminary, Stone Park, and in Rhode Island. He now is at St. Anthony Parish.

Father Francis P. White devoted his religious life to teaching, administration, missionary work and pastoral ministry. He served at St. Philip High School, Mother of Sorrows Institute, the Viatorian novitiate in Arlington Heights, and in Peoria, Ill., Nevada and Japan. He now is associate pastor of Guardian Angel Cathedral, Las Vegas, Nev.

60 years

Father Michael J. O’Brien devoted his religious life to higher education, counseling and serving as Viatorian seminary regent and director. He served at Loyola University Chicago; St. Joseph Home in Palatine and in Bourbonnais and Joliet, Ill. He now lives in Arlington Heights.

50 years

Father Patrick J. Durkin is a Chicago native whose home parish was Our Lady of the Angels. He devoted his ministry to teaching and mental health work. He served at St. Philip High School, St. Viator High School, and in Manteno, Ill., and California. He is retired and lives in La Mesa, Calif.

Father Robert C. Foster is a Chicago native whose home parish was Our Lady Help of Christians. He devoted his religious life to teaching, administration and pastoral work. He served at St. Benedict High School, in several other Illinois cities and in Arizona and Nevada. He is retired and lives in Las Vegas, Nev.

Brother Donald P. Houde devoted his religious life to teaching and administration. He served at St. Viator High School, in the archdiocese’s schools office, in several other Illinois cities and in York, England. He now is a sacristan at St. Josaphat Parish.

Father John E. Linnan devoted his religious life to higher education and administration. He served at the Catholic Theological Union and was its president for several years. He also worked in Washington D.C. and Nevada. He now is pastor of Maternity BVM Parish in Bourbonnais, Ill.

Father Thomas P. McCarthy dedicated his religious life to teaching, pastoral work and writing. He served at St. Viator and was chaplain for the Knights of Columbus Mother Seton Council in Arlington Heights. He also served in Massachusetts and at Marriage Encounter in Chicago, Louisiana, Nevada and in Washington D.C.

Father James E. Michaletz is a Chicago native whose home parish was Our Lady of the Mount Cicero. He devoted his religious life to educational administration. He served at St. Viator High School and was assistant superintendent of schools for the archdiocese of Chicago, director of planning for the archdiocesan school board, director of education for the Clerics of St. Viator U.S. Province and professor of education at Dominican University, where he now works.

Father John W. Milton is a Chicago native whose home parish was St. Lucy, Oak Park. He devoted his religious life to teaching. He served at St. Viator High School, was director of novices for the Clerics of St. Viator U.S. Province and worked in other Illinois cities. He now serves at De Paul University.

Father Daniel J. Mirabelli is a Chicago native whose home parish was Holy Trinity. He devoted his religious life to teaching, administration, business management and chaplaincy. He served at St. Benedict and St. Viator high school. He now is at Alleman High School, Rock Island, Ill.

Father Thomas J. Pisors is a Chicago native whose home parish was Our Lady of Mercy. He devoted his ministry to teaching. He served at St. Viator High School and in several Illinois cities. He now is at Sacred Heart Griffin High School, Springfield, Ill.

Father Hugh W. Robbins is a Chicago native who devoted his religious life to teaching, home mission and pastoral work. He served at St. Philip High School, in Springfield, Ill.; and in Washington and Nevada. He is retired and lives in Mt. Prospect.

He also worked in other Illinois cities and now is pastor of St. Jude Parish, Rochester, Ill.
