Cardinal George presided at the Academic Convocation of the University of St. Mary of the Lake / Mundelein Seminary in Mundelein on May 7. The Cardinal awarded the Baccalaureate in Sacred Theology and the Master of Divinity to the graduates of the seminary program. He conferred the degrees of Master of Arts in Liturgy and Master of Arts (Liturgical Studies), as well as the degrees of the Licentiate in Sacred Theology and the Doctor of Ministry and Doctor of Sacred Theology on those completing programs in the Liturgical Institute, in the Ecclesiastical Faculty and the Graduate School of Theology. In addition to the academic degrees, Cardinal George will also award certificates of studies to the graduates of the Deacon Formation Program, the Lay Ministry Formation Program, the Instituto de Liderazgo Pastoral and graduate certificates for those who have completed preparation for Lay Ecclesial Ministry in the Archdiocese of Chicago.
