Ministers from area churches pray and reconsecrate the grounds during the prayer service held at Burr Oak. Not only were many bodies double-buried, officials claimed more than 300 bodies were dug up and dumped in an isolated, weedy area of a cemetery. Many prominent African-Americans are buried in cemetery, including civil-rights icon Emmett Till.
