Archbishop Cupich gives a "thumbs up" after Gregory Burnett Jr. from Notre Dame College Prep gave a personal testimony at the annual Black Catholic Heritage prayer service on Feb. 20 at Holy Name Cathedral. Hundreds of students from archdiocesan Catholic schools participated in the event. This year's celebration included the bestowing of the first Black Heritage Award upon Laurence Holmes, a graduate of a local Catholic school and DePaul University. Holmes is a sports talk show host on WSCR 670 The Score and supports Catholic education.
