Parishioners pray the rosary near a grave of a Civil War soldier at St. James at Sag Bridge Parish in Lemont on May 25. Beforehand, they participated in a Mass in celebration of Memorial Day. St. James started burials in the early 1830s, which makes it the oldest Catholic cemetery in the Archdiocese of Chicago. Many Civil War soldiers are buried there. This year marks the 150th anniversary of the end of the Civil War.
