Fourteen men were ordained on May 16 at Holy Name Cathedral. The men hail from Cuba, Kenya, Mexico, Michigan, Poland, West Virginia and the archdiocese itself, and they range in age from 26 to 47. The newly ordained will take up their new assignments July 1 at various parishes throughout the archdiocese.
Father Ron Hicks, vicar general for the Archdiocese of Chicago, vests Matthew Alexander, 26, with the liturgical garb of priests during the ordination Mass. This includes a stole placed over the neck and a chasuble worn over the stole, alb, and cincture.
