Father Michael Boehm from St. Maurice Parish, Chicago, and Father John Hoffman, from St. Francis Xavier Parish, LaGrange, hold a sign during a press conference at Holy Name Cathedral Chapel, on Jan. 12. Priests for Justice for Immigrants and Sisters and Brothers of Immigrants, along with other members of the Catholic Campaign for Immigration Reform from the Archdiocese of Chicago, gathered to issue a call to action for the then-president-elect and his new administration to immediately suspend deportations, and work towards comprehensive immigration reform and nationwide support of immigrant families within the first 100 days of taking office. The press conference also announced a novena across the archdiocese leading to the inauguration. The Priests for Justice for Immigrants is a network of over 200 priests and Brothers and Sisters of Immigrants represents 34 religious orders working locally on behalf of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Catholic Campaign for Immigration Reform.
