Kathy Walker from St. Damien Parish in Oak Forest stuffs a folder into a student's backpack as volunteers from the St. Vincent de Paul Society distributed school supplies and food outside St. Gall School in Chicago on Aug. 20. The annual Back to School Book Bag Day assists more than 1,500 families. Food packages included cereal, peanut butter, jelly, crackers, juice and more.
