Autumn is the season of the feasts of All Saints and All Souls. The following photos, taken during the late summer and fall, put on display the veneration of Catholics in the Archdiocese of Chicago for those who are saints, and show the efforts of those who are striving to become holy.
A mural painted by artist Rachel Ryan and a photo depicting former St. Eulalia pastor Father William Quinn adorn the entryway of a new community center in his name. The former parish school had been underutilized for several years until current pastor Father Carmelo Mendez began an initiative to breathe new life into the building with a few coats of paint and hard work. Quinn was a pioneer for social justice. He died in 2004.
