Young women make final 'yes' to God

Sister Kate O'Leary and Sister Alicia Torres became the first fully professed members of the Franciscans of the Eucharist of Chicago on Oct. 4 at Our Lady of the Angels Church on Chicago's West Side.

Torres was featured in the Catholic New World in 2009 and 2010 as she took up running races to raise money to pay of her student loan debt so she could become a sister. Some of our readers contributed money to her effort and helped her reach her goal of entering religious life.
