Alex Costillo and Isidro Cardenas from Little Rock, Ark., sign an inflatable toy brought by youth from other states prior to the opening ceremony on Nov. 17. Trading items, collecting autographs and the like are traditions at the event, much like at World Youth Day with the pope.
