Fireworks illuminate the crowd gathered during the eve of the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe at the Maryville-Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine in Des Plaines on Dec. 11. More than 100,000 pilgrims were expected to visit the shrine between Dec. 11 and 12.
