The mark of Mary is on Annunciata Parish. Under the direction of the Order of the Servants of Mary, its contemporary styled semi-circular church was designed by architect William Butorac and dedicated in 1970. Colorful faceted glass windows include the Seven Sorrows of Mary and the Resurrection of Jesus, executed by Daprado Rigaliís Ron Bottari.
On the far Southeast Side of Chicago, it has Indiana as its eastern border. Todayís neighborhood blends European- with Hispanic-Americans, facing challenges in the light of faith. Together they are family-oriented, hard-working, generous in supporting parish projects, faith-filled and can ìtell it like it is.î A novena to Our Sorrowful Mother (8 a.m. Saturdays) stretches to the parish's founding.
Each December parishioners of Mexican heritage celebrate the novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe. This blue-collar parish is in the shadow of the Skyway, as well as the loving mantle of Our Lady.
