The documents of Vatican II were a Magna Carta for Mary Seat of Wisdom Parish, founded in 1955. The present church, dedicated in 58, has been creatively updated through the years with an eye to bringing people closer to the heart of worship and each other.
On stained glass windows flanking the nave are exhortations from St. Paul and St. John on love. A unique stained glass window over the balcony shows the Lord and the laity, Whatever you do in word or work, do it in the name of the Lord Jesus. The windows and two dramatic mosaics of Our Lady and St. Joseph were done by artist Mel Steinfels.
Faith here is also nourished by education. Wisdom and Beloved weekends have had a transforming effect on adults, and passing on the faith is a parish covenant with both public and Catholic school students. Lay involvement continues to thrive, marked by a keen sense that this is my parish.
