Scholars to speak at St. Peter’s
St. Peter’s in the Loop, 110 W. Madison St., will welcome Father Justin Taylor from the Ecole Biblique in Jerusalem. Taylor will speak about “Where Did Christianity Come From?” June 11. On June 12, Franciscan Father Michael Cusato will join in St. Peter’s celebration of St. Anthony of Padua, the Franciscan Doctor of the Church. The free presentations run from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m.

‘Inspired’ churches to receive awards
Inspired Partnerships will present the fifth annual Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Faith in Community Awards June 14 at Temple Sholom of Chicago. Inspired Partnerships is a non-profit organization that helps religious organizations care for and use their buildings for community service. Awards will be given to religious congregations for restoration or revival, for sharing space and for stewardship. There are individual award categories for volunteers who help those in need and for adult youth leaders. Tickets to the dinner are $50 each; for information, call (312) 294-0077.

Latin liturgy event at St. John Cantius
The Latin Liturgy Association will hold its annual convention June 23 and 24 at St. John Cantius Church, 825 N. Carpenter St. The association supports celebration of the Latin Mass and Gregorian Chant according to both the Tridentine and Novus Ordo rites. The convention begins with a Pontifical Latin High Mass celebrated by Auxiliary Bishop Joseph N. Perry at 8:30 a.m. June 23 and includes liturgies, discussions and presentations. Inclusion apostolate offers awards
The National Apostolate for Inclusion Ministry is seeking nominations for awards honoring service to people with mental retardation, to be presented at the Catholic organization’s national conference in Fargo, N.D., July 12-14 in four categories—youth, service, program and leadership.
