Archdiocese to ordain 21 deacons
On Sunday, May 20, 21 men will be ordained deacons for the Archdiocese
of Chicago. On Monday, May 21, most of those men will turn up
for their other jobs. The 21, ranging in age from 38 to 77, are

Help Wanted: Jesuits seek seniors for volunteer jobs
If you're a man or woman over 50 looking for a way to give something
back, George Sullivan has a job for you. Since March, the retired
North Shore lawyer has been coordinator for the Chicago area chapter
of the Ignatian Lay Volunteer Corps (ILVC), whose members commit
to working with the poor two days a week, 10 months of the year
for at least a year, although we expect many will re-up after

Father Ken Carlson loved the military life. Carlson also loves
being a priest. The 32-year-old associate pastor at Our Lady of
the Ridge Parish in Chicago Ridge served three years in the Air
Force before returning home to care for his ailing mother. After
