Catholics around the Archdiocese of Chicago came out to celebrate the canonizations of Popes John XXIII and John Paul II on April 27, but for many, it was the latter pontiff who was the focus of the celebrations.
Pilgrims make their way from Holy Trinity Polish Mission to St. Hyacinth Basilica to celebrate the canonizations of Pope Saint John Paul II and Pope Saint John XXIII on April 27. The Theme for the pilgrimage was "Do Not Be Afraid To Be Holy" and the event was sponsored by the Office of Mission Education for the New Evangelization. It concluded with a concert and Mass at St. Hyacinth.
