The Black Catholic Deacons of Chicago hosted six back-to-school sunrise prayer services to pray for nonviolence during the 2013-2014 school year.
Deacon Leornard Richardson and Father Thulani Magwaza, co-pastor at St. Sabina Parish in Chicago, lead a blessing Aug. 24 at Rainbow Beach. The Black Catholic Deacons of Chicago hosted six back-to-school sunrise prayer services to pray for nonviolence during the 2013-2014 school year. At the end of the Communion service, Deacon Richardson recognized the anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr's "I Have a Dream Speech" and King's contributions to peace in the nation.
