Catholic faithful in the Archdiocese of Chicago commemorate the coming of Jesus' birth in various ways each year but with the same purpose: to honor the child Savior who came to redeem us all.
Graziano Marcheschi, dressed as St. Nicholas and a member of St. Nicholas Parish in Evanston, greets children with apples on Dec. 3. St. Nicholas was on hand to kick off the parish "Holiday Fest" by teaching the children about St. Nicholas and to light the parish Christmas tree.
