Archbishop Cupich celebrated a Mass of thanksgiving for the canonization of Mother Teresa at Holy Name Cathedral on Sept. 25.
Archbishop Cupich distributes Communion to a Missionary of Charity sister. The Missionaries of Charity serving in Chicago include seven active sisters, six contemplative sisters and four aspirants. Mother Teresa visited Chicago several times in her life and established a convent here in 1983. The convent for the contemplative sisters is located at St. Procopius Parish, 1629 S. Allport St., while the active sisters have their convent and home for single mothers at 2325 W. 24th Place.
