Bishop Rojas celebrated Mass marking the 100th anniversary of Immaculate Conception Parish, 2745 W. 44th St., on September 21, 2014. The parish was founded by Lithuanian immigrants and now has a mostly Hispanic congregation. The Mass was celebrated in English, Spanish and Lithuanian.
Bishop Rojas addresses the congregation at the beginning of Mass. Cardinal George was supposed to celebrate the Mass but was not feeling well. Bishop Rojas shared the cardinal’s best wishes for the parish on its anniversary.
