A eucharistic procession through downtown began at St. Peters Church in the Loop as part of a Fortnight for Freedom event in the Archdiocese of Chicago on June 25. The annual fortnight campaign, initiated by the U.S. bishops in 2012, calls for a two-week period of prayer, education and action on preserving religious freedom in the U.S. The observance ended July 4, Independence Day.
More than 100 people participated in the prayer service.
