Pope Benedict named Chicago Auxiliary Bishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller to be the new archbishop of the Archdiocese of San Antonio on Oct. 14. This slide show is a brief look back at the bishop's seven-year tenure here in Chicago.
Bishop Garcia-Siller delivers the homily during the closing liturgy of the first National Encuentro for Hispanic Youth and Young Adult Ministry at the University of Notre Dame, Ind. The theme of the June 2006 national gathering was “Weaving the Future Together.” The Spanish word “encuentro” means encounter.
