Catholics throughout the Archdiocese of Chicago observed Holy Week with reenactments from the Gospel and special liturgies. The following pictures cover events from Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem to a Via Crucis portraying his crucifixion and death.
Priests renew their promises at the Chrism Mass at Holy Name Cathedral on March 22. During the Mass, the oil of catechumens, the oil of the sick and the oil of chrism for use in parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Chicago were blessed.
