Seventy leaders from seven parishes were commissioned during a Mass and celebration for the launch of Pastoral Migratoria, a new initiative with the Mexican Consulate at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, 3200 E. 91st St. on Sept.18. The new initiative will provide immigrants with resources and information through a ministry of leadership formation and service. The new Office for Immigrant Affairs and Immigration Education of the Archdiocese of Chicago coordinates Pastoral Migratoria and the Mexican Consulate provides technical training and professional support. Bishop Joseph Perry and Manuel Rodriguez Arriaga, general consul of Mexico, participated in the celebration.
