Bishop Listecki to Wisconsin
Chicago auxiliary Bishop Jerome E. Listecki has been named bishop of LaCrosse, Wis.
The LaCrosse Diocese has been without a bishop since December 2003, when its former ordinary, Raymond L. Burke, was named archbishop of St. Louis.
Listecki, 55, has been an auxiliary bishop in Chicago for four years, serving as episcopal vicar for Lake County and some of the northern Cook County suburbs. A Chicago native, Bishop Listecki was ordained in in 1975.

In a statement, Cardinal George said: He is respected and loved by all those he served here in the archdiocese and as chaplain in the armed services of our country. ... He belongs now to LaCrosse, but Chicago will always be proud of him.
