Cardinal George ordains 15 men to the priesthood

>Meet the new priests>

From all over the world they have to minister as priests of the Church of Chicago—from Poland, from Kenya, the Philippines, Peru, Colombia and of course, the United States. The new priests range in age from 25 to 63 and many have worked in varied careers before entering the seminary.

Two had training as medical technologists or physician’s assistants, another worked in a bank, a third was an accountant. One had labored in the construction field. All bring their life-history and experiences to the church.

Cardinal George will be principal celebrant and homilist. Concelebrants will include auxiliary bishops and Father John Canary, rector/president of Mundelein Seminary/University of St. Mary of the Lake.

For the accompanying stories, the new priests were asked a little about their background and hopes for the future in the weeks before their ordination.
