The words have sprung up all over. “God bless America,” shouts from billboards. “United we stand” is emblazoned on signs, homemade and store-bought. Marquees flash with slogans patriotic and divine. Electronic flags join the real ones waving along the roadside. But the most common sentiment seems to be “God bless America” … linking faith and freedom. That’s the sense of this special edition of The Catholic New World.
