Theology-on-Tap starts July 8
The 21st season of Theology-on-Tap, a summer conversation and speaker series for adults in their 20s and 30s, begins July 8 at 64 parishes in the archdioceses of Chicago and Milwaukee and the dioceses of Rockford, Joliet and Gary, Ind. The four-week program will conclude Aug. 5 with a 3 p.m. Mass celebrated by Cardinal George at Holy Name Cathedral, followed by a picnic on the grounds of the cardinal’s residence. Benedictines invite women to monastery
Single, Catholic women, ages 19 to 40, can attend Benedictine Life Week July 2-8 at Monastery Immaculate Conception. Participants will join the prayer and community life of the Sisters of St. Benedict in Ferdinand, Ind., and have an opportunity to meet other women who are considering the religious life. Charities offers HIV/AIDS workshops
Catholic Charities USA, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago, the University of Texas School of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are working together to present “HIV/AIDS Today—What You Need to Know” workshops for social service workers, therapists, teachers, and parish and hospital staff members. The day-long session will be offered July 11 at St. Vincent Center, 721 N. LaSalle St., Chicago, and July 12 at Bernardin Center, 671 S. Lewis Ave, Waukegan. Abortion ‘Truth Tour’ coming to area
The Pro-Life Action League and Citizens for a Pro-Life Society will sponsor a “Face the Truth Tour” July 18-28, bringing a series of large, graphic signs about abortion to major roads and intersections throughout the Chicago area. For information on the tour schedule, call (773) 777-2900.
