one would never believe he came to Chicago for surgeries that
will save his life. Blessed Katharine Drexel, the Philadelphia woman who dedicated
her lifes work to ministering to poor African-American and Native
Americans, will be only the second American-born person to be
canonized. Its a big order, but the pro-life ministry of St. Linus Parish,
10300 S. Lawler Ave. in Oak Lawn, says its upcoming program can
deliver. A local reader expresses his pride in fellow Vis alumnus Steve
Allen. The future of vouchers and other forms of aid for Catholic

column. The Sixth Annual Ecumenical Symposium will feature University
of St. Mary of the Lake professor Sister Sara Butler, MSBT, and

with Bob Growney, president of Motorola, who will discuss God
in the family and the workplace. Twenty years ago, Father John Jamnicky took on the post as chaplain
at OHare International Airport. Now he will fly away from Chicago
to take on a new rolenational coordinator for mobility apostolates
at the U.S. Catholic Conference. On a clear day you can look out the windows of the rectory and
see the Joliet and Gary dioceses! This pioneer parish in the southeast
corner of the Archdiocese of Chicago is situated where the Sauk
Trail (Old Lincoln Highway) and Bishop Ford (Calumet) Expressway
